Rivergate is the heavy end of Brisbane’s marine trade. It exists for the jobs that a marina berth cannot accommodate: engines out, boats out of the water, and work measured in weeks rather than hours.

Most engine servicing in Brisbane happens at the berth. Rivergate is where you go when that is not possible:

The river is hard on raw water circuits
The Brisbane River runs muddy. After heavy rain it runs very muddy, and it carries debris with it.
A boat berthed up the river draws a markedly dirtier raw water supply than one in Moreton Bay, and the consequences are cumulative rather than dramatic: strainers filling, heat exchangers silting from the inside, and an engine running a few degrees warmer each season until something gives.
If your boat lives on the river, shorten the raw water intervals. That is the single most useful local adjustment, and it is the one most often skipped because nothing warns you.
Flood history is a fair question
The river floods, and boats and facilities along it have been affected more than once. It shapes insurance, where owners keep boats through the wet season, and what a second-hand engine sourced locally may have been through.
