About Marine Diesel Engine Australia
We make marine diesel information easier to find, compare and use. Marine Diesel Engine Australia is part of YouSail, an Australian sailing network created by Gabriel Machuret.
Why this site exists
Plan a life aboard a yacht and the engine stops being a mysterious box under the companionway. It becomes the system that gets you into an anchorage, charges essential equipment and brings you home when the wind disappears. Yet useful answers are scattered across manuals, manufacturer pages, workshop knowledge, forums and old owner discussions.
We built this publication to organise that information around the decisions Australian boat owners actually make: understanding a symptom, planning a service, comparing engines, assessing a used boat, budgeting for a repower and finding the right professional help.
Founder
Meet Gabriel Machuret
Gabriel is a marketer, researcher and sailor in the making. He has spent more than a decade turning difficult-to-find information into useful digital resources. Marine Diesel Engine Australia applies that work to one of boating’s most technical and consequential subjects.
Read Gabriel’s storyHow we build the guides
Our starting point is primary evidence: current manufacturer specifications, engine manuals, Australian regulator guidance and recognised safety organisations. We compare claims across sources, state the model or duty context where it matters, link readers to the underlying material and mark the limits of general advice.
Read our editorial policy, explore ourauthority resources or see how we handlecorrections.
Editorial team and technical review
“The Marine Diesel Engine editorial team” is our organisational publishing byline. It describes the research, writing, editing and maintenance of the site; it is not the name of a marine engineer and does not imply technical certification. Gabriel leads the publication and its information design.
When a qualified person reviews a guide, that reviewer is identified by name on the page. If no reviewer is named, readers should not assume that a marine mechanic has certified the content.
Editorial independence
We are an information publisher, not a marine workshop, engine distributor or parts seller. We do not diagnose individual engines or claim that a general guide replaces a model-specific manual, a qualified marine mechanic or an onboard inspection. A named technical reviewer appears only where a real person has reviewed that page.
Business listings are not endorsements. Where a listing or referral is commercial, we disclose it. Safety-sensitive pages tell readers when to stop the engine and seek professional help. Before acting on a guide, read theinformation disclaimer.
The YouSail network
Marine Diesel Engine Australia sits alongside a growing collection of practical Australian boating resources. The network covers marinas, sailing schools, courses, clubs, charters, sails and other parts of life on the water.
