What this site is

Marine Diesel Engine publishes general information about marine diesel engines in Australia, and lists marine businesses. We do not work on boats, sell parts, or perform any of the work described here. We are not a party to any arrangement you make with a business you find through this site.

Information is general, not advice for your engine

Everything here is general information. It is written carefully, but it cannot account for your specific vessel, engine, installation or circumstances, and it is not a substitute for a licensed marine mechanic inspecting your engine.

Marine engine faults can be dangerous. Some can cause fire, flooding, or leave you without propulsion at sea. Where a page tells you to stop the engine and get professional help, that is the advice — do not substitute your own judgement based on a general guide.

You are responsible for deciding what to do with your vessel. Do not rely on this site alone for a decision that affects safety.

Prices

Price ranges are collected from Australian businesses and are dated on the page. They are indicative only. Real quotes vary with access, vessel, engine, location and what is found once work starts. A price on this site is not an offer, a quote, or a promise that anyone will do the work for that amount.

Business listings

We verify listings before publishing them and re-check them periodically, but we do not guarantee that any listed business is available, appropriately licensed or insured for your work, or suitable for it. Satisfy yourself before engaging anyone. Check licences and insurance directly with the business and the relevant authority.

Where a listing involves a paid referral relationship, we say so on the listing itself. Payment never buys a higher position within a page.

A listing is not an endorsement, and the absence of a business is not a judgement about it.

We link to other sites for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, their practices, or anything you do there.
