Two businesses, one badge
Vetus engines are marinised industrial blocks, Kubota-based across much of the range, fitted in yachts and small craft and used in repowers.
Vetus equipment is the far larger presence in Australian boating: bow thrusters, exhaust system components, waterlocks, hoses, seacocks, fuel and water system fittings, hatches and ventilation. A great many boats with no Vetus engine at all have a hull full of Vetus parts.

Why the exhaust componentry matters
Vetus waterlocks, exhaust hose, gooseneck fittings and anti-siphon devices are fitted across an enormous range of Australian boats regardless of engine brand.

- The anti-siphon or vented loop prevents seawater siphoning into the engine through the exhaust
